1 DAY INTRODUCTION TO FLY FISHING

In this workshop we cover the following subjects: Clothing and Equipment; How to set up your equipment; Knots, leaders and lines; Casting theory and practice and line handling with casting sessions conducted outdoors (on grass). Video assisted casting instruction.
All equipment and materials plus course notes are supplied. 6 hrs indoors and outdoors, (9am – 4pm).

Cost $190.00 pp (includes morning & afternoon tea, byo lunch).

2 DAY INTRODUCTION TO FLY FISHING COURSE

Classes are conducted in a workshop setting and along the way you will learn many tips that can take years to discover by yourself.(12 hrs)

Day 1: In this workshop we cover the following subjects: Clothing and Equipment; How to set up your equipment; Knots, leaders and lines; Basic casting theory and practice, with casting sessions conducted outdoors (on grass). Video assisted casting instruction.(9am – 4pm)

Day 2: Fishing locations and locating fish, fly selection and basic technique stream-craft and lake-craft; and fishing etiquette.
All equipment and materials plus course notes are supplied.(9am – 4pm)

HALF DAY CASTING COURSE

The theory and practice of casting, line handling and tips on knots.
3 hrs, (outdoors). Video assisted casting instruction. 1pm – 4pm.

Cost $130.00 pp. All equipment supplied.

FLY TYING 1 DAY INTRODUCTION

In this workshop we cover: Equipment and Materials, What fish eat, Fly design, and Tying techniques. With easy to follow demonstrations, I teach you the steps used to construct a fly.
Full Day, 6hrs, 9 – 4pm. All materials and equipment supplied.

John Coles Fly Fishing School Residential Courses

OBERON, Long Weekend, 3-5 October 2008

Enjoy a relaxing few days in the beautiful Central Tablelands and learn to fly fish. We stay for 3 nights in a comfortable fishing lodge with your own room.

This weekend is for beginners and fly fishers with basic skills, but don’t worry it’s the perfect location so come along and meet some other fly fishers and a have a fun weekend learning some new skills.

Full accommodation all linen included, electric blankets and open fire if it does get cold at night. Meet at the lodge on the Friday and depart mid afternoon on the Monday. Meals include 3 brunches, 3 afternoon teas and 3 dinners. BYO alcohol.

All equipment supplied including waders. You also receive a set of course notes
